About this Role
UNRWA Syria seeks Midwives to provide essential reproductive health and maternal care services to Palestinian refugee women at UNRWA health centres across Syria. The role supports UNRWA's primary healthcare programme with a focus on antenatal, intrapartum, postnatal, and family planning services.
Responsibilities
- Provide antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care following clinical guidelines
- Deliver family planning counselling and contraceptive services
- Screen for high-risk pregnancies and refer to specialist care as needed
- Conduct health education sessions on maternal and newborn health
- Maintain patient records and submit required clinical reports
- Adhere to UNRWA infection control and safety standards
Requirements
- Diploma or degree in Midwifery from a recognised institution
- Valid registration with the relevant Syrian health authority
- Experience in maternal and reproductive health services
- Compassionate, patient-centred approach to care
- Fluent Arabic required
