About this Role

UNOPS Syria seeks a Procurement Officer (ICS-08) to support delivery of procurement services reflecting best practices in international public procurement. The role supports UNMAS Syria operations and is responsible for executing procurement activities while maintaining compliance with UNOPS standards and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Execute procurement activities including pre-purchasing, sourcing, solicitation, evaluation, and contract management
  • Prepare tender documents and coordinate Requests for Quotes, Invitations to Bid, and Proposals
  • Manage grant processes as Grant Support Official, including Call for Proposal documentation
  • Draft and monitor service contracts and Grant Support Agreements
  • Maintain supplier information in UNOPS systems and track procurement plans
  • Participate in contract negotiations and submit to committee for approval
  • Monitor contractor performance and grantee milestone payments

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in any discipline with 2 years relevant procurement/grant management experience
  • Fluent in English and Arabic
  • Knowledge of international procurement policies and UNOPS rules and regulations
  • Proficiency in MS Office and collaboration tools
  • Experience in multicultural or UN system environments preferred
  • Strong ethical standards and team-building skills
