About this Role

Diakonie Katastrophenhilfe is seeking a Field Program Officer to support humanitarian programme implementation in Syria with a focus on protection, livelihoods, and social cohesion. The role is open to Syrian nationals and involves field monitoring, partner coordination, and quality assurance across multiple governorates. Contract type: 6-month Consultancy Agreement.

Responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day implementation of humanitarian programmes in Syria
  • Conduct regular field monitoring visits to project sites across multiple governorates
  • Coordinate with local implementing partners to ensure quality programme delivery
  • Monitor compliance with humanitarian standards and donor requirements
  • Prepare regular progress reports and contribute to documentation
  • Support programme assessments and needs analyses
  • Facilitate workshops and capacity-building activities with partners

Requirements

  • Relevant degree in social sciences, development, or related field
  • Minimum 2–3 years experience in NGO/humanitarian programme implementation in Syria
  • Strong understanding of protection, livelihoods, and social cohesion programming
  • Excellent Arabic (required); English proficiency required for reporting
  • Willingness and ability to travel within Syria
  • Syrian nationality required for this position
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office)
