About this Role
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:
Under the direct supervision of the MEAL Supervisor, the MEAL Assistant will ensure:
- Assist the MEAL Team in implementing monitoring and evaluation activities for the field programme
- Travel to all areas of work and conduct field-level data collection and analysis using different techniques including household surveys, market assessments, focus group discussions and key informant interviews
- Compile, sort and analyse the information from field visits
- Maintain up to date databases and records on beneficiaries and activity delivery to ensure timely and easy access by programme teams for activity delivery
- Provide regular reports and data to the MEAL Officer/Manager as well as programme teams to help in activity delivery
- Ensure that the Community Feedback Mechanism is in place and working.
- Other duties as assigned
Data Collection
- Participate in trainings on tools and methodology
- Follow the workplan and meet targets as set by his/her supervisor
- Participate in data collection as per the methodology
- Ensure that all data collected is saved on Kobo
- Provide any feedback on the tools and/or methodology to his/her supervisor
Additional tasks
- Perform other duties assigned to him/her by the direct supervisor and maintain flexibility at work, especially in emergency cases.

- Conduct himself/herself both professionally and personally as per SARD’s code of conduct
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:
- Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, research, development studies or other related studies
- Knowledge of M&E/data collection process and data management especially for protection sector
- Minimum 1 years of work experience in M&E or data collection with NGOs/INGOs (desirable)
- Experience in emergency work (desirable)
- Self-motivation and strong team spirit
- Good communication and inter-personal skills
- Experience using Kobo/ODK (desirable)
- Ability to speak, read and write in Arabic and English (desirable)
