About this Role

We are actively seeking a qualified and experienced Risk Management Trainer to design and delivera comprehensive, practical training program for project managers at Action For Humanity (AFH) . If you specialize in humanitarian finance, donor compliance, and grant management this opportunity is for you.

About the Assignment

You will lead a fully structured Finance Training Program targeting at least 70% of AFH project managers, delivered either in-person, online, or in a blended format as mutually agreed with the organization.

Financial mismanagement in humanitarian programs can jeopardize donor trust, project continuity, and ultimately the people being served. Your expertise will directly empower project managers to handle grant finances with confidence, integrity, and full donor compliance making programs stronger, more accountable, and audit-ready.

Training Modules You Will Cover:

  • Budgeting & Budget Holder Responsibilities in Grant-Funded Projects.
  • Donor Financial Compliance & Eligible vs. Ineligible Costs.
  • Cash Flow, Forecasting & Burn-Rate Monitoring.
  • Financial Reporting, Variance Analysis & Donor Report Preparation.
  • Procurement, Segregation of Duties & Internal Financial Controls.
  • Fraud Prevention, Audit Readiness & Supporting Documentation Standards.

Success Indicator: A measurable improvement in financial knowledge shown through pre- and post-training assessments conducted with program staff.

What You Will Deliver

Deliverables Include:

  • Training work plan, session agenda & delivery methodology (submitted prior to delivery).
  • Full training materials, handouts & case-based practical exercises.
  • Pre- and post-training assessment tools with scored results.
  • Attendance records and signed participation sheets.
  • Final training report with results analysis and actionable recommendations.

Expected Outcomes:

  • Project managers able to confidently read, manage, and forecast project budgets.
  • Improved donor financial compliance and reduced ineligible-cost risk across projects.
  • Strengthened internal financial controls and audit readiness within program teams.
  • Measurable knowledge gains evidenced by pre/post assessment score comparisons.

Who We Are Looking For

You are the right fit if you have:

  • A recognized ACCA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent finance certification.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant professional finance experience.
  • Working knowledge of institutional donor financial rules EU, BHA/USAID, FCDO, UN, or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with grant budgeting, financial reporting, and audit requirements in humanitarian contexts.
  • A proven track record of similar capacity-strengthening assignments.
  • Strong command of English and Arabic language proficiency is a significant advantage.

Assignment Details

  • Duration: One (1) month from contract signing date.
  • Work Schedule: As per agreed training work plan and session schedule.
  • Delivery Mode In-person and/or online, to be stated in the session agenda & online delivery methodology.
  • Payment: Fixed, all-inclusive fee (covering trainer fee, preparation, materials, delivery & reporting. Subject to applicable tax/withholding per local law).
