JOB TITLE: Pharmacist

DEPARTMENT: Program

LOCATION: Syria – Hama – (Zayzun - Jerniyeh -Hawash and Kafr Nabutha PHC)

JOB TYPE: Full-Time / Project Staff

Scope of Responsibilities

The pharmacist supports the provision of pharmaceutical services within the clinic/healthcare facility, ensuring the safe and accurate dispensing of medications according to approved prescriptions. They provide medication counseling to patients, monitor drug interactions and side effects, and ensure proper medication storage and inventory management. They also adhere to approved health protocols and policies and coordinate with the medical team to ensure the quality of care provided and patient safety.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Dispense medications accurately according to prescriptions.

2. Provide patients with clear instructions regarding dosage, frequency, potential side effects, and proper storage.

3. Ensure patients understand their treatment plan and address any questions or concerns they may have.

4. Adhere to storage and inventory protocols.

5. Ensure proper sorting, classification, and organization of inventory for easy access and to minimize waste.

6. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including box cards, stock cards, and digital inventory systems where applicable.

7. Track consumption rates, report medications nearing their expiration dates, and document any losses or damages according to established policy

8. Ensure the pharmacy adheres to safety and hygiene standards, including temperature control and monitoring expiration dates.

Qualifications, Experience, and Attributes

1. Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy

2. Experience of at least two years

3. Strong computer skills and experience with healthcare databases and applications.

4. Written and verbal communication skills

5. Work under pressure.
