Who we are?

IDA is an international independent non-governmental organization providing medical and humanitarian assistance to people affected by conflicts, natural disasters and epidemics regardless of race, religion, gender or political affiliation. IDA was founded in 2012 by Syrian doctors from Aleppo in response to the healthcare and humanitarian crisis in Syria.

IDA Syria is the main healthcare provider in the Northern Aleppo/Syria area, working closely with 500,000 IDPs and 700,000 host community through 20 healthcare facility and other health and nutrition projects

During last year, IDA has provided 1.2 million services in Heath, Nutrition, WaSH and Camp Management

Location: Syria - Aleppo with Frequent visits to Damascus Office

The Project Manager is responsible for planning, overseeing and leading projects from ideation through to completion. This is a managerial role at an organization and requires interaction with a range of internal and external stakeholders, most often managing several moving project parts simultaneously. Specific responsibilities:

As a role that focuses on completing a project as efficiently and promptly as possible, expect to see any of the following duties and responsibilities in a Project Manager job description:

This position shall be working 50% in Turkey and 50% in Syria - Northern Countryside of Aleppo

• Leading project planning sessions

• Coordinating staff and internal resources

• Managing project progress and adapt work as required

• Ensuring projects reports meet deadlines

• Managing relationships with donors and stakeholders

• Designing and signing off on contracts

• Overseeing all incoming and outgoing project documentation

• Participating in the tender process i.e. design, submission and review

• Designing risk mitigation plan

• Conducting project review and creating detailed reports for executive staff

• Optimising and improving processes and the overall approach where necessary

• Securing growth opportunities and initiating new projects

• Managing large and diverse teams

Qualifications: Project Managers should possess high levels of the below skills to perform well in the role:**

• Conflict resolution skills

• Experience working within a humanitarian context;

• Experience in activities relating to specific sectors of humanitarian work.

• Previous experience working in complex and volatile contexts.

• Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities.

• Fluency in English and Arabic is essential, both written and verbal.

• Good IT skills, including Excel and Word.

Context/Specific skills, knowledge and experience:

• Knowledge of the context in the North-West of Syria.

• Good standing and reputation in the community

• Experience in working with local partners;

• Experience in conducting assessments and monitoring activities;
