POSITION SUMMARY:

Accountability Officer is responsible for the manage and implement activities related to accountability to the affected population and mainly in its aspects related to transparency, complaint and feedback mechanisms, community engagement and participation across ONSUR’s area of intervention. in addition to foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement across the organization

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the establishment and continuous improvement of the accountability system.
  • Establish and manage complaints and feedback mechanisms, ensuring effective community engagement and participation.
  • Maintain regular communication with affected populations in the intervention areas and contribute to strengthening community participation in program design and implementation.
  • Support and follow up with Program and MEAL teams to ensure the implementation of recommendations arising from accountability-related findings and assessments.
  • Prepare quarterly accountability reports and review the complaints tracker for ONSUR projects.
  • Produce quarterly complaints and feedback analysis reports.
  • Ensure that lessons learned are systematically collected, documented, and integrated into ONSUR’s programs and operations.
  • Organize periodic learning sessions and workshops to disseminate findings, share best practices, and promote a culture of learning and continuous improvement across ONSUR.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: BA degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 03 years’ experience in accountability and learning roles, preferably within humanitarian or development programs.
  • Languages: Good skills in English and Arabic
  • Others: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Good contextual knowledge of local issues, community priorities and cultural constraints.
  • Capable of working both individually and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, stressful environment.
  • Must be flexible, willing to perform other duties, and work irregular hours.

Personal Abilities and Skills

  • Proficient use of KOBO, MS Word, Excel, and Power BI
  • Proficient in report writing.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and tasks efficiently.
  • Planning, organizing, analyzing, and assessing skills.
  • Excellent communication and interaction skills. Teamwork and delegation of tasks.
  • Ability to operate in an environment of multiple cultures that require flexibility.
  • Time management skills and adherence to narrow deadlines with strong attention to detail.
