About this Role

Humanity & Inclusion (HI) is seeking a Regional Inclusive Education Specialist based in Damascus to lead inclusive education strategy across the Mashriq region (Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt). The role provides technical guidance to Education in Emergency (EiE) interventions with a focus on disability-inclusive approaches.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement inclusive education sector strategies across the Mashriq region
  • Provide technical support to HI Education in Emergency projects in Syria and neighbouring countries
  • Lead business development initiatives and proposal writing for inclusive education programmes
  • Represent HI in Education clusters, sub-clusters, and inter-agency coordination forums
  • Document lessons learned and develop technical resources and guidelines
  • Mentor and build capacity of national education staff

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Inclusive Education, Special Needs Education, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in international development or emergency/post-crisis contexts
  • Excellent knowledge of Education in Emergencies minimum standards (INEE, 2024)
  • Expertise in primary/secondary education, curriculum, and pedagogy
  • Disability frameworks and inclusive programming knowledge
  • Fluent English (required); Arabic proficiency preferred
  • Syria/Middle East experience is an advantage
