About this Role

UNFPA's Aleppo Sub-Office is seeking a GBV Technical Officer/Specialist (UN Volunteer) to support the implementation, monitoring, and reporting of gender-based violence prevention and response programmes across Aleppo and surrounding governorates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support formulation and design of annual GBV work plans aligned with the Humanitarian Response Plan
  • Provide technical guidance to implementing partners on GBV case management and response
  • Conduct field visits and provide capacity-building support to partner organizations
  • Document GBV trends, lessons learned, and programme data for reporting
  • Coordinate with GBV sub-cluster actors, protection, and health sectors
  • Support women's empowerment groups and psychosocial support activities
  • Ensure inclusion of persons with disabilities in GBV programming

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Gender and Development, Psychology, Social Science, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in GBV programming or related humanitarian work
  • Fluent Arabic and English (both required)
  • Strong project management and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working with returnees and IDPs is an advantage
  • Must be a national, legal resident, or refugee in Syria
