About this Role
UNFPA's Aleppo Sub-Office is seeking a GBV Technical Officer/Specialist (UN Volunteer) to support the implementation, monitoring, and reporting of gender-based violence prevention and response programmes across Aleppo and surrounding governorates.
Key Responsibilities
- Support formulation and design of annual GBV work plans aligned with the Humanitarian Response Plan
- Provide technical guidance to implementing partners on GBV case management and response
- Conduct field visits and provide capacity-building support to partner organizations
- Document GBV trends, lessons learned, and programme data for reporting
- Coordinate with GBV sub-cluster actors, protection, and health sectors
- Support women's empowerment groups and psychosocial support activities
- Ensure inclusion of persons with disabilities in GBV programming
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Gender and Development, Psychology, Social Science, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in GBV programming or related humanitarian work
- Fluent Arabic and English (both required)
- Strong project management and interpersonal skills
- Experience working with returnees and IDPs is an advantage
- Must be a national, legal resident, or refugee in Syria
