About this Role
UNRWA Syria seeks an Associate Community Development Officer for a 6-month consultancy to manage social dimensions of camp improvement initiatives in Damascus.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage social dimensions of camp improvement initiatives, including community surveys and data collection
- Conduct awareness sessions and stakeholder engagement to boost community participation
- Facilitate communication between project teams and residents through town halls and meetings
- Document projects and generate reports on assessments and grievances
- Coordinate shelter assessments and community input gathering
- Support handover of completed projects to refugee communities
Requirements
- University degree in Social Studies, Sociology, Psychology, or related field
- Minimum 3 years experience in community engagement or development projects
- Fluent written and spoken English and Arabic
- Valid driving license desirable
- Applicants must reside in Syria within commuting distance of Damascus
