About this Role

UNRWA Syria seeks an Associate Community Development Officer for a 6-month consultancy to manage social dimensions of camp improvement initiatives in Damascus.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage social dimensions of camp improvement initiatives, including community surveys and data collection
  • Conduct awareness sessions and stakeholder engagement to boost community participation
  • Facilitate communication between project teams and residents through town halls and meetings
  • Document projects and generate reports on assessments and grievances
  • Coordinate shelter assessments and community input gathering
  • Support handover of completed projects to refugee communities

Requirements

  • University degree in Social Studies, Sociology, Psychology, or related field
  • Minimum 3 years experience in community engagement or development projects
  • Fluent written and spoken English and Arabic
  • Valid driving license desirable
  • Applicants must reside in Syria within commuting distance of Damascus
