About this Role

DRC seeks an Advocacy and Communications Coordinator to develop and implement DRC's country-level advocacy and communications strategy in Syria, based in Damascus. Contract through 31 December 2026, renewable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement DRC's country-level advocacy strategy identifying priorities where DRC can add value
  • Provide analysis of humanitarian and displacement trends to inform advocacy priorities
  • Prepare evidence-based briefing papers, policy statements, and advocacy products
  • Represent DRC in relevant working groups and coordination spaces
  • Manage the Communications Officer and oversee communications materials
  • Support collective advocacy initiatives with partner INGOs
  • Monitor and evaluate advocacy initiative impact

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years in policy and advocacy work within complex humanitarian crises
  • Strong understanding of the political and humanitarian context in Syria and the region
  • Bachelor's degree in human rights, development studies, social sciences, media, or related field
  • Proficiency in English and Arabic (speaking and writing)
