About this Role

WeWorld seeks a Project Manager to lead the coordination and implementation of emergency projects in Syria, based in Damascus with field travel. This is an expatriate position with a 6-month initial contract renewable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure effective coordination, timely and quality planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of project activities
  • Manage finances, administration, HR, and logistics for emergency projects
  • Lead Area Project Coordinators and coordinate with field teams
  • Develop monitoring systems to ensure transparency and proper resource use
  • Support project proposal development and strategy implementation

Requirements

  • Advanced degree in development, international relations, or project management
  • Fluent English (written and spoken); Arabic or Italian knowledge is a plus
  • Minimum 7 years humanitarian/development experience
  • At least 5 years project cycle management experience
  • Strong experience in the management of multi-sectoral projects in a protracted crisis
  • Previous Middle East/Syria experience and knowledge of Education, WASH, and Protection interventions desirable
