WHE Team Lead – Damascus

WHO Syria seeks a WHE (World Health Emergencies) Team Lead to support the Health Emergencies Programme at the national level in Damascus.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead emergency response systems and advise the Ministry of Health on Emergency Management Systems and Operation Centres
• Coordinate Standard Operating Procedures for priority health risks
• Oversee medical stockpile management and operational planning
• Coordinate with UN agencies and NGOs to strengthen national health emergency capabilities
• Manage resource mobilisation, staffing, and reporting on preparedness and response

Requirements

• Advanced degree in health, management, emergency, or disaster management
• Minimum 10 years of experience in multi-sectoral coordination and emergency response
• Expert English proficiency; intermediate Arabic desirable
• Demonstrated knowledge of rapid response operations and emergency management systems

Salary: Base USD 103,165/year + USD 1,049/month post adjustment | Fixed-term, 1 year
