Telecommunications & Network Engineer — Damascus

UNRWA Syria is seeking a Telecommunications and Network Engineer (Daily Paid) to plan, design, and maintain UNRWA's telecommunications and network infrastructure across Syria. The Engineer will ensure the reliability of UNRWA's communications systems supporting the delivery of humanitarian services to Palestine refugees in Syria.

• Plan, design, implement, and maintain UNRWA's telecommunications and network infrastructure across Syria field offices
• Manage VSAT, radio communications, VoIP systems, and other telecommunications equipment
• Monitor network performance, diagnose faults, and implement solutions to minimise downtime
• Maintain technical documentation, network diagrams, and equipment inventories
• Evaluate new telecommunications technologies and make recommendations for infrastructure improvements
• Provide technical guidance and training to IT and communications staff across UNRWA Syria offices
• Liaise with internet service providers, telecommunications vendors, and UNRWA headquarters on technical matters
• Support business continuity planning and disaster recovery for telecommunications systems

• Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum 4 years of experience in telecommunications or network engineering
• Strong knowledge of networking technologies (TCP/IP, routing protocols, VPN, firewall management)
• Experience with VSAT systems and HF/VHF radio communications is highly desirable
• Relevant professional certifications (CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent) are an asset
• Good English and Arabic communication skills
• Palestinian refugee registered with UNRWA is preferred for this position
